Successful value chain management begins with an understanding of consumers and markets.
Consumer Data Project
The George Morris Centre partnered with the Canadian Pork Council, Chicken Farmers of Canada, Canadian Sheep Federation, and the Ontario Veal Association to study consumer purchasing behaviours for pork, chicken, veal, and lamb.
Results of the study, from data collected by Ipsos-Reid, will help establish a closer link between the agri-products sector and consumers, in turn assisting primary producers in making more informed business decisions.
Workshops, being held in 2009, are providing industry stakeholders with powerful information for improving business decision-making and capturing greater value from the marketplace.
The project was funded, in part, through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food (ACAAF) program.
